THE EVOLUTION

The establishment of the Hong Kong Thyroid Association Limited (The Association) is in response to a group of Hong Kong’s thyroid dysfunction patients and so to pursue to encourage public concern of thyroid diseases. The Association is a new organization formally established and registered in Hong Kong in February 2005. The Association is founded and formed by a group of Hong Kong business professionals and scientists . We are doing to foster public awareness, knowledge and understanding relating to thyroid diseases and the relevant modernized Chinese medicine, diagnosis, management and preventive measures.

The Association today is a professional non-profit making body comprising medical, allied health professional individuals and/or societies , and individuals . At present, it has a particular mailing address for connection in the community. Its membership expects to grow to a significant number encourages all thyroid diseases patients and individual professionals altogether with the following categories:

1. Bodies representing the interest of their respective professions

2. Specialty Societies

3. Health Administrative Groups

4. Therapists (Physical, Occupational and others)

5. Pharmacologists and the Pharmaceutical Industry

6. Medical Technologists

7. Nutritionists

8. Interest Groups
